Omar Abdullah Launches RAMP Buyer-Seller Meet to Reconnect Kashmir Artisans With Global Markets
Next year’s two cycles of six meets will give artisans direct market access as well as modernisation support

- More than 100 sellers and 45 buyers from seven countries and seven Indian states showcased over a hundred wool and woollen products at SKICC on June 30
- The Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation and Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council organised the event under the Ministry of MSME’s RAMP scheme
- Omar Abdullah urged restoring direct links between artisans and customers to rebuild Kashmir’s traditional crafts market
- He called on the Industries Department to prioritise artisans with limited financial means and ensure recognition and rewards go directly to the creators
- Government support will include establishing raw material banks, colour banks and design innovation centres to help artisans modernise products for global consumers
