Omar Abdullah Hails HDFC Bank at Srinagar Event, Urges Sustainable, Repeat Tourism

Addressing HDFC Bank’s annual function at SKICC in Srinagar on Friday evening, Omar Abdullah praised the bank’s growth, resilience and long-term commitment to Jammu & Kashmir.
He invoked Kashmir’s legacy as “Heaven on Earth,” citing the inscription at the Red Fort to underscore the Union Territory’s tourism identity.
He urged delegates to explore destinations outside Srinagar and said success would be measured by visitors choosing to return.
He described HDFC Bank as a key partner in the UT’s economic progress, noting its 124 branches and wide ATM network supporting deposits, lending and priority sector financing.
He thanked the bank for hosting its annual function in J&K, calling the choice a reaffirmation of faith in the UT’s potential, with senior advisors, legislators and bank delegates in attendance.
