Melissa Hoskins, an Australian Olympian and world championship-winning cyclist, has died after being hit by a car in Adelaide.
Her husband, fellow pro cyclist Rohan Dennis, has been arrested and charged with causing her death by dangerous driving, driving without due care and endangering life.
Hoskins competed in team pursuit at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and won gold in the team pursuit at the 2015 world championships in France.
Dennis was part of the Australian team that won silver in the team pursuit at the London 2012 Olympics and bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
The couple has two children and the family had relocated to Adelaide from Europe after Dennis's retirement.
