Olympic Champion Petra Vlhova Withdraws from 2025 Alpine World Ski Championships

Petra Vlhova, reigning Olympic slalom champion, will not compete in the 2025 Alpine World Ski Championships in Austria due to ongoing knee rehabilitation.
The 29-year-old skier suffered a torn ACL during a World Cup event in Slovakia one year ago, with setbacks in December and January delaying her recovery.
Vlhova has competed in every World Championship since 2013, earning six medals, including a giant slalom gold in 2019.
Her coach, Mauro Pini, confirmed that while her rehabilitation is now progressing positively, she will not be ready to race competitively in February.
Vlhova's focus has shifted to preparing for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Cortina, which would mark her fourth Olympic appearance.
