Sarah Pavan, a two-time Olympian, announced her retirement, marking the end of a distinguished 25-year volleyball career.
She began her career in indoor volleyball, debuting on Canada's junior national team at age 14, and later became the youngest player on the senior team.
Pavan transitioned to beach volleyball in 2013, achieving significant success including a world title in 2019 with partner Melissa Humana-Paredes.
Her Olympic journey included a fifth-place finish at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021 Games, partnering with Heather Bansley and Melissa Humana-Paredes respectively.
Pavan expressed that volleyball was more than just a sport to her, describing it as her social circle, safe space, classroom, and vehicle for self-expression.
