• Joanna and Karol Olszewski have managed lavender fields near Grimme since 2017, using April pruning to enable dual harvests in late June and autumn.
• This weekend’s festival is the farm’s second Erntefest of 2025 after the early July event drew over 2,000 visitors.
• Participants are invited into the fields to cut lavender and may take home every tenth bundle they gather.
• The festival features a range of lavender-based treats and products, including lavender ice cream, cakes, pillows, liqueurs and scented sachets.
• Brandenburg’s cooler temperatures allow extended essential oil accumulation in the plants, enhancing the aromas prized in the farm’s artisanal offerings.
