Overview
- Olectra confirmed on Thursday, July 30, 2026, that it has deployed 4,000 electric buses nationwide and marked the milestone with a ceremonial handover of its 4,000th bus to Himachal Pradesh officials.
- The company flagged off 297 buses for the Himachal Road Transport Corporation at the same event, which was attended by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, senior state officials and Olectra executives.
- Olectra says its fleet has run more than 730 million 'green kilometres' and avoided roughly 6.5 lakh tonnes of CO₂; a lakh equals 100,000, so 6.5 lakh is about 650,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
