Mike Nussbaum, known as the oldest professional actor in the U.S., has died at the age of 99, just six days before his 100th birthday.
He died of natural causes at his home in Chicago, according to his daughter, Karen Nussbaum.
Nussbaum had a prolific career in stage and film, with notable roles in 'Field of Dreams' and 'Men in Black'.
He was acknowledged by the Actor’s Equity Association union multiple times as the oldest professional actor in the country.
A private funeral service is planned, and a public memorial service will be held next year.
