Overview
- The Automotive Research Association of India certified Ola’s indigenously developed 5.2 kWh 4680 Bharat Cell pack under AIS-156 Amendment 4.
- Ola said it will begin delivering vehicles powered by its own cells soon, with the S1 Pro+ slated to be the first model to receive the pack.
- The company said the approval followed testing for safety and reliability, including IPX7 water immersion, vibration endurance and thermal shock.
- Ola is scaling cell output through its planned Gigafactory in Tamil Nadu and has approved an INR 199 crore infusion into Ola Cell Technologies.
- The same 4680 platform is being deployed in the new Ola Shakti residential energy storage system to expand use beyond scooters.
