  • Mestemaker told ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Saturday that he is transferring to Oklahoma State, following new head coach Eric Morris from North Texas.
  • The 6-foot-4 redshirt freshman led the FBS with 4,379 passing yards and posted 34 touchdowns against nine interceptions during a 12-2 season for the Mean Green.
  • A former walk-on who rose to starter, he was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year after his breakout 2025 campaign.
  • He will continue working with Morris and new quarterbacks coach Sean Brophy, who recruited him out of Vandegrift High School in Austin, Texas.
  • Oklahoma State’s previous quarterbacks left after Morris was hired, with Hauss Hejny entering the portal Jan. 1, and the Cowboys have added high school signees Brodie Vehrs, Luke Tepas and Hunter Trusler.
