Oklahoma Man Decorates Entire Neighborhood with Christmas Lights

Stephen Dunkelberg's initiative brings joy and revives holiday traditions in his Bixby community.

Stephen Dunkelberg, a 31-year-old man from Bixby, Oklahoma, decorated all 22 houses on his street with Christmas lights over two weekends.
Dunkelberg grew up celebrating Christmas with elaborate decorations, a tradition that faded after his father's death in 2004.
In 2017, Dunkelberg began decorating his own home and gradually expanded his efforts to his entire street, providing and hanging the lights for free.
Dunkelberg sought the preferences and permissions of his neighbors, many of whom are older and have lived on the street for years.
The lights have brought joy to the community, with neighbors sharing their personal stories and holiday traditions with Dunkelberg.
