Oklahoma Guard MP Detachment Heads to Fort Bliss for Middle East Rotation

The nine-month Operation Spartan Shield mission will provide routine law enforcement support in the CENTCOM region.

Overview

  • Nearly 50 Soldiers from the 745th Military Police Detachment, part of the 345th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion under the 90th Troop Command, are mobilizing for the deployment.
  • A farewell ceremony was held Tuesday at the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Mustang, Oklahoma, with family members and state Guard leaders in attendance.
  • The unit will complete pre-deployment training at Fort Bliss, Texas, before traveling overseas for the mission.
  • While deployed, the detachment will conduct routine military police and law enforcement operations in support of Operation Spartan Shield.
  • The Oklahoma Army National Guard expects the Soldiers to return home in fall 2026, according to the official announcement.
