Overview
- Mayor David Holt publicly introduced the signage on Thunder Day at the Paycom Center as the team raised a permanent arena banner and players received their rings.
- The city installed 14 championship banners throughout Will Rogers International Airport to greet departing and arriving travelers.
- Six “city limits” signs now mark entrances on I-35 north and south, I-40 east and west, I-44 near SW 149th Street, and westbound I-44/Turner Turnpike at Luther Road.
- The project began in July and was coordinated with Will Rogers International Airport, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, and the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority.
- Holt said the goal is a visible, permanent legacy that reminds the millions who pass through Oklahoma City each year that it is home to the 2025 NBA champions.
