Oklahoma City Could Soon House America's Tallest Building

California-based Matteson Capital and AO Architects propose a 1,907-foot skyscraper, surpassing New York's One World Trade Center by 131 feet.

  • California-based real estate developer Matteson Capital and architecture firm AO have proposed to build the tallest building in the United States in Oklahoma City. The skyscraper, named 'The Boardwalk at Bricktown', would stand at 1,907 feet, surpassing the current tallest building, One World Trade Center in New York, by 131 feet.
  • The proposed height of 1,907 feet is symbolic, representing the year Oklahoma was admitted as the 46th state of the United States.
  • The development would span approximately 5 million square feet and include residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces. It would feature a 480-key Dream Hotel by Hyatt, an additional 350-key Hyatt hotel, 1,776 residential units, and over 110,000 square feet of commercial space.
  • The project would consist of three towers each measuring 345 feet, and a fourth tower, known as Legends Tower, reaching 1,907 feet. The top floors of the Legends Tower would feature a public observatory, restaurant, and bar.
  • Before construction can proceed, the developers will need to secure a rezoning approval from the city officials, as the current zoning restrictions do not permit a building of this height.
