OHSAA Unveils Eight Finalists for 2025 Ohio Mr. Football
The new slate puts Cincinnati in line for a possible third straight honoree.

- Moeller quarterback Matt Ponatoski and Lakota East running back Ryder Hooks are the Southwest District selections among the eight finalists.
- The other nominees are Levi Davis (Olentangy Orange), Brayden DeVito (Shelby), Brayton Feister (Akron Hoban), Cincere Johnson (Cleveland Glenville), Grady Kinsey (Indian Valley) and Rocco Williams (Pickerington Central).
- Ponatoski, the 2024 winner, threw for 2,402 yards with 28 touchdowns and one interception this season, holds Moeller career records for passing yards (10,058) and touchdowns (115), and is committed to Kentucky.
- Hooks ran for 2,032 yards and 19 touchdowns, added 400 receiving yards and three scores, and contributed 37 tackles and three interceptions on defense after earning Southwest District Division I offensive player of the year.
- The winner is scheduled to be announced Dec. 4, with OPSWA members voting on the award and OHSAA hosting the state championships in Canton.
