Ohio Teen Sentenced to Probation for Planning Synagogue Mass Shooting

Judge orders boy to write book report on Holocaust hero Carl Lutz as part of sentence

A 13-year-old boy in Ohio has been sentenced to a year of probation after pleading guilty to planning a mass shooting at a synagogue.
The boy was also ordered to write a book report on Carl Lutz, a Swiss diplomat who saved over 62,000 Jews during World War II.
The teen had shared his detailed plan for the attack on the online platform Discord, leading to his arrest.
As part of his sentence, the boy is banned from unsupervised internet use and must continue seeing a licensed therapist.
The sentencing comes amidst a reported spike in antisemitic incidents across the United States.
