Ohio State Lands 2026 Edge Dre Quinn, 2027 Safety Eli Johnson as Visits Pay Off

Four-star edge rusher Dre Quinn committed Sunday morning following his official visit for the UCLA game, bringing the 2026 class to 26 commitments.
Quinn, from Buford (Ga.), is ranked No. 391 overall and No. 36 at edge by the 247Sports composite and becomes the second edge in the class alongside Khary Wilder.
Four-star safety Eli Johnson committed Saturday night just before kickoff, ranking No. 114 overall and No. 10 at safety for 2027 out of Cibolo Steele (Texas).
Ohio State’s 2027 group now counts six pledges and an early core that includes QB Brady Edmunds, WR Jamier Brown, DB Angelo Smith, and in-state linemen Mason Wilt and Kellen Wymer.
The staff hosted priority 2027 targets such as tight end Brock Williams during the UCLA weekend, with a December decision expected, as the 2026 class approaches its Dec. 3 signing window.
