Ohio State’s opponent will be decided on Dec. 20 in College Station when No. 7 Texas A&M hosts No. 10 Miami.
The Buckeyes received a bye despite a 13-10 Big Ten title game loss to undefeated Indiana.
This will be Ohio State’s third consecutive Cotton Bowl appearance as the defending national champion.
Contractual tie-ins sending Indiana to the Rose Bowl and Georgia to the Sugar Bowl narrowed site options, and the official Cotton Bowl announcement resolved earlier Orange Bowl speculation.
