Ohio Mother Charged With Murder After Leaving Toddler Alone For Over A Week, Child Found Deceased

Ohio woman Kristel Candelario was charged with murder after leaving her 16-month-old daughter Jailyn home alone without supervision for 10 days.
Candelario went on vacation to Puerto Rico and returned to find Jailyn unresponsive in her crib due to extreme dehydration and malnutrition.
Jailyn was pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy is being conducted to determine the official cause of death though no signs of physical trauma were observed.
Candelario admitted to police she left the toddler unattended for the duration of her vacation and neighbors were unaware the child had been left alone.
Candelario is being held without bail pending a preliminary hearing where she will face charges for the murder of her young daughter due to neglect and abandonment.
