  • State Rep. Joe Miller plans to file legislation this fall designating the roadway in front of the Lorain PD as the Officer Phillip Wagner Memorial Highway.

  • On July 30, more than 3,000 law enforcement officers and community members attended a public memorial at Rocket Arena, where Wagner received full military honors.
  • Wagner, 35, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and father of three who joined the Lorain Police Department in 2022, died July 24 after a July 23 ambush that also injured Officers Peter Gale and Brent Payne.
