Ohio High School Student on Drugs Assaults Teacher, Causes Severe Brain Injury

The student, found hallucinating with a self-inflicted head wound, also assaulted another student and is now in juvenile detention.

  • A 15-year-old student at Colerain High School in Ohio, under the influence of an unknown drug, attacked a 60-year-old teacher, causing her a severe brain injury that required the removal of her skull cap.
  • The student also allegedly assaulted another 15-year-old student by grabbing and pinching his neck.
  • The teacher was rushed to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center
  • The student, who was found hallucinating and with a self-inflicted head wound, was taken to the hospital and later to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of felonious assault.
  • The school and police are investigating the incident, which the school has described as an isolated event, and there is no current threat to the school community.
