O’Hearn Starts All-Star Game With Custom ‘O’Hearn Orange’ Bat

The personalized bat and belt paid tribute to the Newtown Edgmont Angels, whose new scoreboard will be installed this weekend with O’Hearn’s donated appearance fee.

Overview

  • O’Hearn made his first career All-Star start on July 16 in Atlanta as the American League designated hitter batting sixth with a custom Victus bat in “O’Hearn Orange.”
  • Every signature on his bat and matching belt, gloves and cleats came from players of the Newtown Edgmont Angels, a Little League Challenger Division team for children with physical and intellectual challenges.
  • The surprise presentation of the gear was orchestrated by O’Hearn’s wife, Hannah, and longtime agent Allan Donato during a pregame family dinner.
  • In May, O’Hearn donated his entire appearance fee from a Meet The Birds event to the Angels, financing part of a $20,000 scoreboard for their field.
  • Phillies pitcher Matt Strahm also contributed to the project, and the new scoreboard is set to go live this weekend.
