Ogden 16-Year-Old Charged as Adult in Killing of 15-Year-Old Girlfriend

Prosecutors moved the case to adult court as a domestic violence matter, with the suspected firearm still unaccounted for.

Hezekiah Plummer, 16, is charged with murder, obstruction of justice, theft of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and possession of a dangerous weapon by a minor.
Police say the victim, identified as 15-year-old Chanelle Alvarez, was found fatally shot in the head just before 3 a.m. Saturday at a home near 3600 Jackson Avenue in Ogden.
An autopsy indicated a close-range gunshot wound; investigators found one casing in the hallway, several more outside along with possible exterior bullet strikes, and they do not believe the outside shots caused her death.
A witness reported seeing Plummer with a gun and hearing him claim a robbery before fleeing, and the victim’s mother later found her Glock’s box in the bedroom while the firearm itself was missing.
Plummer was arrested in Davis County with several ounces of marijuana and about $4,000 in cash, declined to be interviewed, and prosecutors have asked that he be held without bail; the charges remain allegations.
