OGDCL Announces Gas-Condensate Discovery in Sindh With 22.5 MMSCFD Potential
The operator portrays the find as a boost to domestic supply through indigenous resources.
Overview
- The Bitrism East-1 well in Khairpur was reported to have flowed gas and condensate on test, marking a discovery in OGDCL’s Bitrism Exploration License.
- OGDCL said the combined test potential is about 22.5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and 690 barrels of condensate per day at a 32/64-inch choke.
- Wireline-log interpretations led to two Drill Stem Tests in the Lower Goru Formation targeting the Massive and Basal sands.
- The well was spudded on June 30, 2025 and drilled to a depth of 3,800 meters in the Sembar Formation using in-house expertise.
- OGDCL operates the license with a 95% working interest, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited holds 5%, and the company says the discovery adds to national reserves.
