Overview

• Body camera video released by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office shows 21-year-old Daveonte Dixon opening fire on pursuing officers during a traffic stop near Perdue Avenue and Mecca Road.
• Dixon, who fled the scene, is on probation with prior convictions including burglary and obstruction of justice and is considered armed and dangerous.
• One officer’s condition was upgraded from critical to stable and the other remains stable after both were hospitalized for gunshot wounds.
• A firearm believed to be used in the shooting was recovered near the scene and warrants for Dixon’s arrest have been entered nationally.
• The Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation has joined the probe and Central Ohio Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
