Officials Identify Six Officers in Dundalk Police Shooting That Killed Robert Adams

The state’s Independent Investigations Division is reviewing body-camera video to decide whether the officers’ use of force was justified.

Overview

  • The Maryland Attorney General’s unit named the officers as Andrew Meyer, Malik McLaughlin, Austin Kiss, Nicholas Cook, Mason Rice and Luke Eubert of Baltimore County Police.
  • Police say the call began after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday with reports of gunfire and a barricade that lasted more than five hours before six officers fired.
  • Investigators report officers saw Adams at a second-floor window they believed he was armed, later recovered two firearms near that window, and found him dead inside the home.
  • Officials have obtained body-worn camera footage from all six officers, who are on routine administrative leave during the investigation.
  • Neighbors and friends say Adams fired warning shots into the air and question whether police attempted de-escalation or allowed family to speak with him.
