Officials Identify Pilots and Mechanic Killed in Michigan Hawker 800XP Crash
Authorities await DNA confirmation during an ongoing federal investigation.
Overview
- Bath Township police named the victims as pilots Rodolfo Pimentel Zamora, 50, and Francisco Del Moral Jimenez, 55, and mechanic Alvaro Espejo Javier Rodriguez, 69, all Mexican nationals, with DNA testing still pending.
- The business jet crashed around 5 p.m. on Oct. 16 in the Rose Lake State Wildlife Area near the intersection of Clark and Peacock roads in Bath Township.
- The Hawker 800XP had departed Battle Creek Executive Airport on a post-maintenance test flight, according to officials and Duncan Aviation.
- Duncan Aviation said it performed the scheduled maintenance and that the pilots and maintenance representative worked for the customer, not the company.
- The FAA and NTSB have not identified a cause, and officials said on-scene work and cleanup are expected to wrap up in the coming days after a challenging response to a fire and difficult site access.
