- As police intervened in a fight, a 35-year-old man’s gun discharged, striking an officer in the chest and an 18-year-old man.
- A second officer returned fire, wounding the 35-year-old and inadvertently hitting the teen again, according to CPD.
- The officer’s vest stopped the chest shot; he was treated at a local hospital and released, while the teen and the suspected shooter were in fair condition at University of Chicago Medical Center and Advocate Christ Medical Center.
