Off-duty military police officer Thiago de Lima was caught on camera fatally shooting his wife, Erika de Lima, after a violent altercation in their car in Brazil.
The couple, who had been married for approximately six months, were embroiled in a heated argument that escalated into physical violence, with Thiago striking Erika multiple times before shooting her.
Following the shooting, Thiago attempted to rush Erika to the hospital, but she was declared dead upon arrival.
A month prior to the shooting, Erika had filed a complaint regarding a domestic violence threat from Thiago, but later decided not to press charges.
Thiago is now facing charges of feminicide, a term used to describe homicides linked to domestic violence or discrimination against women.
