Off-Duty Officer Arrested After Rochdale Car Crash Leaves Man Critical
A police officer from Greater Manchester Police was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a collision that critically injured a pedestrian.
- The incident occurred at around 11pm on Yorkshire Street, Rochdale, involving three vehicles.
- A 42-year-old man was attempting to cross the road when he was hit, leaving him in a life-threatening condition.
- Two vehicles, a blue Mercedes C250 and a silver Mini Cooper S Sport, are suspected to be involved.
- The off-duty officer and another man were both arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and have been bailed.
- The case has been referred to the Greater Manchester Police's Professional Standards Directorate for review.
