Overview

• Baikunthanath Sarangi was detained on his retirement day after officials unearthed assets valued at over Rs 15 crore, representing 483% more than his known income.
• Investigators recovered Rs 2.56 crore in cash from Sarangi, including Rs 50 lakh he attempted to discard, alongside Rs 2.7 crore in share investments and Rs 1.5 crore in bank and insurance holdings.
