Odisha Transfers Rs 1,041 Crore To Over 51 Lakh Farmers Under CM-KISAN Ahead of Nuakhai
Timed for Nuakhai, the payment is the third CM-KISAN instalment after the scheme’s 2024 revamp.
Overview
- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi released Rs 2,000 per beneficiary via Direct Benefit Transfer to support 2025–26 Rabi preparations.
- Under CM-KISAN, eligible small and marginal farmers receive Rs 4,000 a year in two seasonal tranches aligned with Akshaya Tritiya and Nuakhai.
- Beneficiaries must use Aadhaar-linked bank accounts, with ration cards and land details registered on the Krushak Odisha Portal for cultivators.
- Landless agricultural households qualify through MGNREGA job cards and can access Rs 12,500 livelihood support in three tranches, alongside Krushi Bidya Nidhi education aid.
- The programme, rebranded from KALIA after the BJP took office, has widened coverage by about five lakh farmers, according to officials.
