Overview
- The government announced on July 1 that it will withdraw the flawed Class 1–8 textbooks, complete expert reviews and supply fully revised, error-free editions to students.
- Reported mistakes include factual and image errors such as placing Niyamgiri Hills outside Odisha, identifying Hampi as the Konark Sun Temple, using the Karnataka assembly photo in place of Odisha’s assembly and describing Isaac Newton incorrectly.
- Officials have published correction lists on the OSEPA website, given teachers correction sheets to keep classrooms running and invited parents, teachers and experts to comment on revised drafts for primary classes.
