• Subham Sabar, 19, from Mudulidhiah village in Khurda district, has been admitted to the MBBS program at MKCG Medical College in Berhampur through his Scheduled Tribe category rank.
• He achieved rank 18,212 in the ST list of NEET UG 2025, earning a state medical seat.
• Following the exam, he spent three months as a construction worker in Bengaluru, earning Rs 45,000 and saving Rs 25,000 for admission-related expenses.
• He learned of his success via a call from teacher Basudev Moharana at the construction site and returned home the next day with his contractor’s permission.
• His parents, Sahadeb and Rangi, have asked the government for financial support to help him complete the course.
