Overview

  • Shaktishree has formally launched across 16 state universities and 730 government and aided colleges under an eight-point framework that includes empowerment cells and 24x7 CCTV surveillance.
  • A dedicated mobile app in development will allow women students and staff to lodge anonymous complaints via text, audio or video and access Tele-MANAS mental health support.
  • Each institution must enforce mandatory annual online training on the 2013 POSH Act and UGC regulations alongside a binding code of conduct for all teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Campuses are required to submit a comprehensive annual safety report by December 31 detailing implemented measures and incident responses.
  • BJD critics have denounced the scheme as a hasty political gesture lacking detailed implementation planning.
