Overview

  • On Aug 15, Kalahandi Collector Sachin Pawar and Vision IAS vice-president Deepali Chaturvedi signed an MOU to roll out Mission Akankhya as a CSR initiative.
  • The programme will select 60 aspirants annually through a written test on Sept 21 and interviews before expert-led classes begin in Bhawanipatna from early October.
  • Coaching will be delivered in both in-person and online formats with the district administration providing infrastructure facilities.
  • Mission Akankhya is framed within NITI Aayog’s Aspirational Districts Programme and marks Vision IAS’s first such venture in Odisha after projects in three other states.
  • Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s recent remarks calling coaching centres “poaching centres” have renewed calls for reforms in competitive-exam tutoring.
