• Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced the rollout of breastfeeding centers at railway stations and bus stands across Odisha.
• Each center will be staffed by a female attendant to ensure a comfortable, women-friendly environment for nursing mothers.
• The first public nursing room was virtually inaugurated at the Odisha State Commission for Women office during World Breastfeeding Week.
• Parida highlighted that exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months can reduce risks of breast and ovarian cancers and improve maternal and infant mental well-being.
• The government also unveiled the Lok Kalyan portal to streamline NGO registration and urged public and private institutions statewide to establish similar facilities.
