  • Chemical tests on his hands and on the money drawer returned positive for bribe-related residues, confirming the illicit transaction.
  • A case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018, was registered and a special court has remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody after rejecting his bail plea.
  • Chakma, a 2021-batch officer of the Odisha cadre who previously served as an Indian Forest Service officer, has led the Dharamgarh subdivision since January 2024 and hails from Tripura.
