Odisha Girl, 8, Left Overnight in Locked Classroom as Headmaster Is Suspended

A preliminary review found older students were told to lock the school.

Overview

  • The Class II student, identified as Jyotsna Dehuri, was inadvertently left inside the Anjar Government Upper Primary School in Keonjhar on August 21.
  • She became stuck in a classroom window while trying to escape and remained there through the night until villagers discovered her on August 22.
