Odisha Finalises Arrangements for PM Modi’s Sept 27 Berhampur Visit to Launch Major Projects

The programme doubles as a launch pad for initiatives spanning education, rail, telecom, healthcare, housing.

  • Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led a high-level review and directed departments to deliver seamless security, logistics, venue readiness and public participation.
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive at Rangeilunda near Berhampur at 11 a.m. on September 27 for the national-level Sewa Parv event.
  • Project slate includes capacity expansion at eight IITs and the doubling of the Koraput–Baiguda and Manabar–Koraput–Gorapur railway sections.
  • The visit will feature the inauguration of the Sambalpur–Sarla flyover and the nationwide launch of BSNL’s indigenously developed 4G service.
  • MKCG and VIMSAR will be upgraded to super-speciality institutions, with PMAY assistance for about 50,000 beneficiaries and a new national skill programme set for rollout.
