Overview

  • The Rath Yatra procession is set for June 27 with Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra to travel from the Jagannath Temple to Gundicha Temple following the end of Anavasara on June 26.
  • Authorities have established a five-tier security arrangement deploying over 10,000 personnel—including state police, paramilitary forces and Coast Guard units—backed by drones and 275 AI-enabled CCTV cameras.
  • Health services include 69 temporary medical centers, 64 ambulances and 265 hospital beds stationed along the four-kilometre route to address any emergencies among the expected hundreds of thousands of devotees.
  • Ritual milestones are complete: Snana Purnima bathing was observed on June 12, Anavasara spanned June 13–26 and Gundicha Marjana cleaning is scheduled for June 26 to prepare for the chariot journey.
  • Parallel Rath Yatra processions, organized by ISKCON and regional temple committees in Prayagraj, Lucknow and Dibrugarh, will echo themes of unity and world peace during the festival period.
