Overview
- The Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi approved the B-MAAN umbrella scheme on October 25 with an outlay of ₹4,182 crore for 2025–2030.
- The Commerce and Transport Department is the nodal agency and will operationalise the plan through a dedicated fund.
- Viability Gap Funding and other incentives will support regional routes linking tier-II and tier-III towns with major cities under UDAN-style programmes.
- The initiative includes establishing a maintenance, repair and overhaul ecosystem, with facilities planned at Biju Patnaik International Airport and other locations.
- The programme advances drones, seaplanes and e‑VTOL adoption, expands air cargo capacity, and ramps up skilling and flight training, including pathways for women pilots.
