Overview
- The High-Level Clearance Authority, which met on Wednesday, Sept 23, 2026, approved 27 projects with a combined sanctioned investment of about Rs 2,47,116 crore and projected roughly 50,162 jobs.
- Four IT/ITES and data-centre proposals account for the largest share at about Rs 1.43 lakh crore, a scale the government describes as unprecedented for the sector in Odisha.
- The package includes named investments such as SICSEM’s silicon carbide wafer and GaN facility in Khordha, L&T’s fabrication complex in Ganjam, and a proposed 1,000-bed Adani Foundation hospital in Khurda.
- Officials stress these are HLCA clearances that still require land allotment, environmental permits, financing and other statutory approvals before construction can begin.
- By placing projects across 15 districts, the state aims to boost local employment and supply chains but outcomes will depend on how quickly permits, power links and skilled labour are put in place.
