Odisha Boy, 4, Dies After Swallowing Toy From Chips Packet

Officials said the toy blocked his airway and reported no formal complaint so far.

The incident occurred in Musumahapada village under Brahmani police limits in Daringbadi block of Kandhamal district.
The child was identified as Bigil Pradhan, the son of Ranjit Pradhan, according to reports citing police and medical staff.
Family members said a miniature plastic toy gun came out of a chips packet the boy was playing with when he accidentally swallowed it.
His parents tried to remove the object and then rushed him about 30 kilometres to the Daringbadi Community Health Centre, where he was declared dead on arrival.
CHC in-charge Dr Jakesh Samantaray said the toy obstructed the airway, and police said no formal complaint had been filed as of Wednesday.
