Odisha Boy, 4, Dies After Allegedly Swallowing Toy Found in Chips Packet

Overview

• The death occurred in Musumahapada village under Brahmani police limits in Daringbadi block of Kandhamal district, according to police.
• The child was identified as Bigil Pradhan, son of Ranjit Pradhan, as per the police account carried by PTI.
• Family members said a miniature plastic toy gun was found inside a chips packet and the boy began playing with it before allegedly swallowing it.
• Relatives rushed him about 30 kilometres to the Community Health Centre in Daringbadi, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
• CHC in-charge Dr Jakesh Samantaray said the boy’s father told staff the toy blocked the airway, and police said no complaint has been filed so far.
