- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi sanctioned two new Odisha Industrial Security Force battalions on July 23, raising total units from two to four.
- The state government created 2,080 posts for the additional battalions, comprising 1,944 regular positions and 136 outsourced roles.
- Outsourced roles will cover support services such as cooks, sweepers, barbers and dhobis for the third and fourth battalions.
- With the expansion, the OISF’s headcount reaches 4,927 personnel tasked with safeguarding industrial and commercial installations.
