Odermatt Wins World Cup Downhill Amid Kilde's Serious Crash

Kilde airlifted to hospital following crash, a day after Pinturault's season-ending injury.

Swiss skier Marco Odermatt won the World Cup downhill race in Wengen, Switzerland, marking his 31st career World Cup win.
Norwegian skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, the overall World Cup champion in 2020, crashed near the finish line and was airlifted to a hospital.
Kilde's crash followed a similar incident the previous day when 2021 overall champion Alexis Pinturault of France was airlifted after sustaining a season-ending knee injury.
Odermatt and Cyprien Sarrazin of France traded wins on the previous two days and finished 1-2 again in the downhill Saturday.
Odermatt extended his points lead in both the season-long downhill standings and the overall contest.
