Held on $1.02 million bail, the suspects face multiple charges after using a handgun to rob a woman at Byron Gibbs Park followed by a multi-agency chase on Highway 101

Overview

  • Davina Humphrey, 51, and Amina Vaden, 24, were arrested following the August 3 incident at Byron Gibbs Park where they allegedly lured a couple under false pretenses
  • Police say Humphrey produced an undetectable handgun and struck the woman in the head before the suspects realized they could not operate the park’s manual-transmission SUV
  • Officers from the Healdsburg and Petaluma police departments, along with CHP and Marin County deputies, ended the Highway 101 chase when the vehicle ran off the road and captured the suspects after a brief foot pursuit
  • The husband was uninjured and reunited with his wife after she was treated and released from the hospital, and a minor found in the suspects’ vehicle was unharmed
  • The women are being held in Sonoma County Jail on charges including robbery, kidnapping during a carjacking, carjacking, assault with a firearm and weapons offenses
