Overview
- Sgt. Talha Ahmad, 28, was arrested Friday on charges of forcible touching, sexual abuse, official misconduct and harassment, then released on his own recognizance on the non-bail-eligible counts.
- According to the criminal complaint, the woman asked who he was and he replied, “I am the police supervisor,” during a Dec. 30 visit tied to her emergency call.
- A law enforcement account says he returned to the Brooklyn building unannounced, asked to review domestic incident reports, requested her phone number, and then allegedly squeezed her buttocks.
- The NYPD suspended Ahmad without pay, and Internal Affairs opened an investigation after the woman reported the incident to the 69th Precinct.
- Ahmad was previously honored in 2021 by then–Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams after an on-duty knife confrontation; if convicted in the current case he could face up to about a year in jail.
