NYPD Seeks Suspect in Nearly $10,000 Card Theft at Tom Brady–Backed SoHo CardVault

Investigators say the thief bypassed a declined payment by entering manual prompts on the card terminal.

Overview

  • Police released surveillance images and asked for tips after an Oct. 20 incident at the Lafayette Street shop in SoHo.
  • Roughly $9,710 in baseball and Pokémon cards were taken, and no injuries were reported.
  • The suspect remains at large after allegedly tricking the contactless checkout to make it appear the transaction succeeded.
  • He is described as a male with a medium complexion wearing a Yankees cap, black hoodie and shorts, white socks and sneakers, and carrying a multicolored bag.
